Back in action

It’s my third day back at the office and I’m slowly getting used to it again. I’ve got a nice new business project to keep me occupied, and a colleague is going on leave soon (to France, no less), so I’ll have to get up to speed on a few client accounts so I can provide some cover.

It’s nice to be back in Sydney. As much as I love travelling and as much as I miss Washington (and Paris) already, it’s nice to be home. I was in a taxi home from a chorus rehearsal on Tuesday night, and we passed under the bridge from Miller’s Point, to that little street that passes the Opera House. A nice welcome back.

Weather’s been all rain, all the time from what I hear, but today it’s finally cleared up. Hopefully, it’ll be nice this weekend.

Rehearsals are going full force, as we have a concert, the Bach B Minor Mass, coming up in a fortnight, and then right after that is one of my all-time favourites, Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis, which we’re doing with the Sydney Symphony, both as part of their regular subscription series and for World Youth Day. I’m not sure if the Pope will be in attendance, but I wouldn’t be surprised.

But it’s keeping me busy. The downside of that is I still haven’t had the chance to do anything with the thousands of photos I have from the trip. I was able to copy them all to my photo library and import them into Photoshop’s organiser. Now the job is to tag them all and pick the ones I want to process and post. Tagging’s a pain, but the other part is fun.

Anyway, I promise I’ll have some up soon, but for now you’ll just have to live with what’s there so far.
