Although, we were treated to perhaps the best event of this year's World Cup, when Zinedine Zidane head-butted Marco Materazzi in overtime, earning a red card. Apparently ZZ was provoked by a "very serious" comment the Italian made (this according to Zidane's agent), but there is no word on what, exactly, it was.
"He told me Materazzi said something very serious to him but he wouldn't tell me what," agent Alain Migliaccio told BBC Radio Five Live.
Sources in France say it is believed Materazzi insulted Zidane's mother.
Migliaccio, who spoke to Zidane at 2am on Monday morning, added that Zidane did not elaborate on what Materazzi said.
"I don't know, Zinedine didn't want to talk about it but he will talk about it in the next couple of days," he said.
"He is a man who normally lets things wash over him but on Sunday night something exploded inside him.
"He was very disappointed and sad. He didn't want it to end this way."
JUST IN: A three-story residential building in Manhattan has exploded and collapsed. No word on why; right now CNN just has people on the ground speculating, naturally.

Zidane makde a stupid thing. Surely Materazzi told him offensive thing, but he didn't have to lose his mind. It's not the kind of thing that a real sportman do. He make a mistake in the most important day of his life. Zidane is really stupid and he paid for that. The strange thing is that fifa let zidane be the 1st man of the world cup, for me he must go back home and think about what he did. Zidane is a good player, but surely he isn't a good sportman. He have to leave the football! Zidane you are an idiot!
